ACORD

ACORD (Agency for Cooperation and Research in Development) is an Africa-led international alliance working to promote social justice. ACORD is running field operations in 17 countries in Africa, as well as Pan African and international advocacy work. ACORD's response to the challenges of Africa is firmly based on a belief that people themselves are the agents of change and actors of their own development. Teopista Akoyi (Vredeseilanden) is currently president of the Board. www.acordinternational.org

Concord European Food Security Group

Concord is the European Development NGO network. Vredeseilanden participates actively in the working group on food souvereinity. www.concordeurope.org

European Platform for Food Sovereignty (EPFS)

The European Platform for Food Sovereignty (EPFS) is a cooperation between 150 different national platforms. It is not an institution on its own. Most of the national platforms started their activities in the eighties and nineties. The specific nature of these platforms is their broad basis composed of member organisations in different areas in society: environment, farming, North-South cooperation, consumers. www.epfs.eu

KAURI VZW / ASBL is a Belgian multi-stakeholder network and knowledge centre on global ethical, sustainable, intercultural, fair and transparent NGO & business practices. Vredeseilanden is a founding member and still member of the Board. www.kauri.be

Alterfin

The cooperative society ALTERFIN was founded in 1994 and is a form of cooperation between North South organisations, financial institutions, social organisations, some companies and over one thousand private individuals. Alterfin invests in microcredit institutions and associations of fair trade producers in Africa, Asia and Latin America. These organisations for their part grant credits to tens of thousands of small farmers and entrepreneurs in the South. Vredeseilanden is a major shareholder of Alterfin and also has a seat in Alterfin’s Board of Directors. www.alterfin.be
 

CIFCA

 
CIFCA was founded in 1991. From its head office in Brussels CIFCA follows up the European policies on Central America. About 40 organisations (ngo's, study centres ,...) are a member of CIFCA. Their prior-ity lays in advocacy work towards the European Union so that human rights in Central America are pro-tected and promoted in bilateral negotiations between the EU and Central America such as policy dialogues, development co-operation, trade and investments (eg. Bioforum

Vredeseilanden a member of the Board of the Belgian umbrella of organic food producers, processors and labeling organisations. www.bioforum.be

IPC-International NGO/CSO planning committee


The IPC is a global network of ngo’s, civil society organizations and social movements that serves as a facilitation mechanism for diffusion of information on, and capacity building for, food sovereignty and food security issues. It is not a centralised structure and does not claim to represent its members and the wider movement. Instead, it is a regionally-based Network with constituency and thematic representation in its membership. The IPC Liaison Office in Rome, acts as the international secretariat of the Network, and facilitating its activities. www.foodsovereignty.org

AAI-Agribusiness Accountability Initiative

Agribusiness Accountability Initiative is a growing international network of academics, activists and food system experts from farm, labor, environment, consumer, church and development organizations, who recognize that corporate concentration and vertical integration among transnational agro-food companies threaten the sustainability of the most important industry on earth, the global food system. VODO-Vlaamse overleg duurzame ontwikkeling

VODO is a platform of about 20 NGO’s from the North South movements in Flandres, Belgium. It stimulates the public debate on sustainable development. We promote collaboration between different actors in soci-ety to do joint campaigns and advocacy work. www.vodo.be

11.11.11 is the umbrella organisation of the Flemish North-South movement in Belgium. Vredeseilanden is a member of 11.11.11 since 1962 and is represented in the Board of Directors, the General As-sembly and the Board of Campaigns. www.11.be

2015-DE TIJD LOOPT

191 countries signed the agreement to achieve 8 Millennium Development Goals. The Flemish ngo coalition 2015-DE TIJD LOOPT (“Time is running out”) sets up joint campaigns to remember politicians in Belgium to their promises. 2015-DE TIJD LOOPT is a member of the Global Coalition Against Poverty. www.detijdloopt.bewww.whiteband.org
